According to reports in Spain, Real Betis will try to persuade Leeds United to prolong Marc Roca’s loan for another season. According to Mucho Deporte, the Spaniard would prefer to stay at the La Liga club, but the deal is contingent on Leeds United failing to regain promotion to the Premier League.

Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has already mentioned Roca’s impact on his team, allowing defensive tasks to be delegated to Guido Rodriquez and Andres Guardado. The story does not specify if the loan would be extended on the same terms or whether the two teams would have to negotiate new ones.

Leeds United’s turning point following the summer exodus
Alan Hutton, a former Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur defender, feels Leeds United have reached a tipping point following their 3-2 win over Norwich City, which moved them up to third position in the Championship.

“They are sitting third in the league now and it can take a little bit of time to adjust and I think that is what has happened,” Hutton said in an interview with Football Insider. “Losing a lot of players, entering a league I know is difficult and can catch you off guard even if they’ve been there before.”

“You’d like to think this is a watershed moment for them because it’s a big club with ambitions to return to the Premier League.”

“There are going to be a lot of big teams down there pushing for it.” They have a decent roster that should make it difficult for them to return to the Premier League, so if they can keep everyone fit and firing, they should be able to do so.”
