On Wednesday, NFL fans took to social media to criticize President Joe Biden for a weird narrative about the Green Bay Packers. While in Wisconsin this afternoon, the president told a weird story about his former professor who was picked by the Packers.

Biden revealed that his teacher allegedly turned down the option to become a priest in favor of playing in the NFL for the Packers. It was a very lengthy diatribe in true Biden fashion:
“I attended a Catholic high school in Delaware taught by a Norbertine priest from St. Norbert College. It was a little town with a team called Green Bay. “Now, here’s the deal: we were the only high school in Delaware that overwhelmingly supported Green Bay,” Biden told OutKick. “This is not a joke, and I’ll tell you why: every Sunday. Not only did they have fantastic teams at the time, and they still do, but my theology professor at the Catholic school I attended was a guy named Riley (last name). He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers but chose to become a priest.
“He didn’t go, but every single solitary Monday that Green Bay won, we got the last period of the day off.”
Outkick then pointed out that Biden told a separate anecdote about the Packers in 2021, during which he made no mention of his old professor being drafted by the team.
NFL fans criticize Biden for switching stories.
Biden appeared to change his story slightly, and supporters were quick to point out the differences. This was the original version of the story:
“I went to a Catholic boys school in Claymont, Delaware, taught by an order of priests called the Norbertines,” Biden told 620 WTMJ. “The Norbertines had an Abbey residence in DePere. Every Sunday when the Packers won, the headmaster, Father Justin E. Diny, would turn on the PA system and declare, ‘Gentlemen, no last period today.’
“He made all of us Packers supporters. Besides, I’m afraid I’ll go to hell if I don’t root for the Packers. Father Diny might come back. I can’t oppose Father Diny. He’d burst out of his tomb if he knew I was pulling for someone else.”
