Buffalo Bills: This is it, as Josh Allen faces incredible pressure (Bills QB Josh Allen primed and ready)

In 1979, Kenny Loggins produced a single called “This Is It” with the following lyrics, which definitely relate to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in 2024. Make sure you know where you are: (This is it) Your back is to the corner. Allen is 28 years old. If he keeps healthy, he will most likely get numerous more opportunities. But if Allen wants to reach a level that few quarterbacks have been able to achieve, this is the year to do it.

First, let us be fair. Quarterbacks do not win games by themselves. Teams rarely win championships nowadays unless their quarterbacks play exceptionally well. Allen is that type of quarterback. He’s capable of leading a team to a Super Bowl championship. However, Dan Marino possessed the same skill, and it never materialized. Bills quarterback Josh Allen is poised and ready. Allen had a tremendous regular season. He finished with 28 touchdown passes and only six interceptions, throwing for 3,731 yards. On the run, he gained 531 yards and scored 12 times. One may argue that this has been his most efficient season.

And here’s one of Allen’s strongest qualities coming into the 2024 postseason. He does not need to ascend above. He just has to be Josh Allen. That’s because he’s at a level that only one other quarterback, Lamar Jackson, can match. According to democratandchronicle.com, Allen stated that the Bills will not try anything out of the ordinary in postseason.

“We continue with the preparation that we’ve had all year,” Allen told the crowd. “We won’t try to modify anything. There’s no need to do more or less; we just need to keep doing what we’re doing and ensure that we’re, as I previously stated, executing at a high level. It requires a close-knit team to win a world title and a Super Bowl. That’s our goal, but our belief in each other is solid.” The first step is Denver.

Buffalo does not need to destroy the Broncos. The Bills merely need to win and forget about style points. Still, if they want to go to the Super Bowl, this should be the easiest step. According to buffalobills.com, Broncos head coach Sean Payton is aware of Allen’s ability to dominate opponents.

“Obviously there are a lot of challenges,” Payton stated. “He had an MVP season.” The first thing, if you’re attempting to slow him down or throw him off track, is obviously removing the primary read. His stature and strength make him a difficult opponent. You can see him, but he has one of those rigid arms that keeps you at bay. These large, powerful athletes can build and stay on their feet. Last year, he had a fantastic postseason run. Coverage for the second act. The first act includes the five-step, seven-step, and three-step (drop back). The second act is unscripted. That’s critical.”

Allen has at least 250 total yards over his last seven playoff games. It comes naturally to him. Will Allen be able to lead his team past potential roadblocks like the Ravens and/or Chiefs? There’s one thing in his favor. The Chiefs are unlikely to return to the Super Bowl. They will most likely play in the AFC Championship Game, which means they will be at home. But it’s time for that empire to crumble. The question is whether Allen will be the architect of destruction. This marks his seventh year. This is the turning point. Loggins sung, “One way or another.”
