The baseball team of Nebraska Cornhuskers is unstoppable. On Saturday night, after falling behind the College of Charleston Cougars late in the game for the second straight game, the “Cardiac Corn” came back to win the game by a single run.

Entering the eighth inning behind 4-1, the Huskers scored 2 runs, then added 2 more in the top of the ninth. The door was then shut by rookie relievers Ty Horn and Casey Daiss, who managed to escape situations they had put themselves in.

The two games against CoC are not the only games where the Huskers have rallied this year. They also used comebacks in several games to take 3 of 4 last weekend against Grand Canyon University. This time around, they’re looking for a sweep on Sunday afternoon.

While the College of Charleston has to be shocked they allowed the Cardiac Corn to rally twice, the Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach is a bit shocked by the never say die attitude early this season as well.

Coach Will Bolt stated on his postgame radio program, “It happens maybe once or twice a year that you come back from a ninth inning deficit.” “And we’ve done it a few times now.”

The Huskers’ softball team is having trouble after losing its best player in the opening game of the season and having the injury bug bite a few more times so far. Meanwhile, the baseball team is currently 6-3 and winning close games nearly every time. They suffered a doubleheader loss on Saturday, falling to #14 Missouri 10-6 and Wichita State 17-4. They are currently 8-9 overall and 0-3 at home this season.

After an extended break, the women’s basketball team of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who are most certainly headed to the NCAA tournament, will play again on Sunday. In their first game since February 24, they will play Illinois in the year’s last regular season game. The Huskers have won three games in a row, all by double digits, and they are rolling. They are attempting to win 20 games this year.

The Huskers introduced Chasing 3, their motto for 2024. This is a clear reference to the manner in which the Huskers concluded their campaign—losing their final four games by a combined total of precisely three points. Head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team Matt Rhule explains in a video that goes along with the slogan how he wants the team to improve somewhat in the upcoming campaign.
