Newcastle United have been hindered by inconsistency and a number of injuries in recent months, with a top-four finish now firmly out of reach.

Eddie Howe will be disappointed with the Magpies’ defeat to Chelsea last time out, as they are now ninth in the table. However, they will face a different type of test tomorrow, as Manchester City stands in their way of reaching the FA Cup semi-finals.

As the season draws to a close, Eddie Howe will be desperate to avoid any further blows to his already depleted team, therefore Football FanCast is here to keep you up to date on the latest injury and suspension news from St James’ Park.

Newcastle United have a number of injury concerns ahead of tomorrow’s game.

Nick Pope’s homecoming date appears to be in late April.

Joelinton appears to be out till next term, which is a significant setback for Eddie Howe.

Unfortunately, the Magpies’ striker issues remain, as Callum Wilson is expected to be out for a prolonged amount of time.

Kieran Trippier is expected to return after the international break.

Harvey Barnes will miss the Manchester City game, but Howe hopes he will return for West Ham.

Anthony Gordon should be in the squad after training, but Howe said this:

“When you see a guy come off like that, you worry it’s a catastrophic injury, but he partially exercised yesterday and appeared well. We train again today, so we’ll conduct a full session and make a decision after that.”
