DONE DEAL: The Raiders recently signed an LB. Regarding a $98.9 million….

Thus far, the Green Bay Packers’ free agency has been quite eventful. Josh Jacobs’ acquisition from the Las Vegas Raiders may have been their offseason’s most notable deal. When free agency opened, the top running back agreed to a four-year, $48 million deal with the Packers.

The Raiders definitely suffered from losing their best offensive weapon, as coach Antonio Pierce still seems a little miffed about Jacobs’ exit.

Since being selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Jacobs has continuously been the Raiders’ offense’s most reliable player. The former Alabama player, who made two Pro Bowls and led the league in rushing in 2022, has established himself as one of the top running backs in the NFL.

It makes sense, then, that Antonio Pierce, the team’s rookie head coach, would have preferred to have his most effective offensive player return for his first complete season. He used the cliche “money talks, BS walks” as a result.

By giving him what he was worth, the Raiders could have kept their star player. If you don’t, someone else will, and you’ll have no grounds for grumbling about players wanting bigger paydays.
