REPORT: The Giants Changed Their Mind About Quarterback Plans For 2024 Season.

The New York Giants have allegedly opted to take a different approach at quarterback this offseason than they had planned. They are likely to try to select a quarterback in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft.

The Giants appear to be done with the Daniel Jones experiment. The Giants signed Drew Lock in free agency to compete with Jones for the starting job. However, Jones and Lock may not be the first-choice quarterbacks after training camp.

The Giants have the sixth pick in the draft, giving them a chance to select one of the top rookie quarterback prospects in this year’s class. The Giants allegedly had to reconsider which quarterback they would have the opportunity to draft.

According to John Frascella of Razzball, the Giants wanted to select LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels in the draft. However, due of his popularity among the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots, the Giants have set their sights on J.J. McCarthy.

“While it has been reported that the Giants are furious that someone leaked the JJ McCarthy story, my source says they were even more interested in Jayden Daniels. However, the Giants have realized that Daniels is DEFINITELY going.

The Giants may want McCarthy at No. 6, but there is no guarantee he will be available when New York has the opportunity to draft him there. The Minnesota Vikings, Las Vegas Raiders, and Denver Broncos are all anticipated to try to trade up for McCarthy. The Vikings recently traded for a second first-round pick in the draft, and they could make another move for a quarterback like McCarthy before the sixth pick.

The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly selling the No. 4 pick, and the Giants may have to make a move there if they want to draft McCarthy.
