Ben Sheaf, Kasey Palmer, and Milan van Ewijk have some good news about their injuries, according to Coventry City injury news from CoventryLive.
The good news that “one or two” of his injured Coventry City players won’t be out as long as initially anticipated has encouraged Mark Robins. The initial diagnosis for Ben Sheaf, Kasey Palmer, and Milan van Ewijk was that they would all be sidelined for six to eight weeks due to adductor strains, quad tears, and other injuries, the Sky Blues manager stated earlier this week.
However, when asked if any of his injured players were getting closer to being available during today’s pre-match news conference before Saturday’s trip to Queens Park Rangers, he replied: “Yes, there are a few more encouraging signals, so I’m sort of hopeful on that. Tomorrow is too soon for them, but I am confident that starting next week, we will start to see one or two returning.
He responded, “I’ll let you know next week,” when asked who was closest. I have hope, but they still need to go through a process. I rely on the information I receive from the medical staff, and the information I receive from the players themselves is more encouraging. Let’s see, then.
“They need to be accurate, check off boxes, and return to a position where they have reduced their risk of further damage and such. But now I have greater faith that it won’t take as long as we anticipated. But once more, I follow the advice of those who are more knowledgeable than me.
Despite a scan revealing a “significant” damage in Van Ewijk’s quadricep muscle, the player was in little pain, suggesting that he might be among the players returning.
While Callum O’Hare has been participating in full contact training again for a few weeks, it is still far too early for the attacking midfielder to play. Instead, it is likely that he will make the first team bench after returning from a nine-month absence due to an ACL tear by getting some playing time with the Under-21s.
