Texas will be without a major player, according to Longhorns Daily News.

After safety Derek Williams was dismissed from Saturday’s Big 12 Championship game against Oklahoma State, the Texas Longhorns challenged a targeting penalty he earned last week. However, according to 247Sports, the Longhorns’ request for Williams’ reinstatement for the entire College Football Playoff game against Washington was denied. Williams will be forced to sit out the first half of New Year’s Day’s Sugar Bowl.
