Mason Crosby, the veteran kicker for the Green Bay Packers, will always have a warm spot in the hearts of Packers fans. He took over as kicker in 2007 and has never looked back. Before leaving the organization in 2022, Crosby established himself as one of the franchise’s most iconic players.
While many supporters felt it was time to let Crosby go after the 2022 season, it was still a difficult pill to swallow. However, as the season entered Week 16, Packers fans had reason to rejoice when shocking news broke.
Green Bay Packers fans are ecstatic that veteran kicker Mason Crosby will have another chance to kick this season.
According to a story published earlier today:
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network:
The #Giants have signed veteran Mason Crosby to their practice squad, according to sources. He’ll kick for them against the #Eagles on Christmas Day. Cade York has been placed on practice-squad IR after aggravating a leg issue this week.
Crosby was not activated for the Rams’ one game after playing in 258 consecutive games for the Packers (a franchise record). With only three weeks left in the 2023 season, Crosby may have a chance to convince the league that he still has it.
Crosby has made 81.4% of his field goal tries over the course of his career. He has made 95.4% of his extra point attempts since the league changed the rule in 2015. For the last stretch of the season, the Giants have one of the best kickers in NFL history on their side.
Packers fans were thrilled to see Crosby return to the league this season.
