Newcastle United’s star man Anthony Gordon has revealed how difficult it was to play against Manchester United after the club had to play the same 11 players in the previous three games due to injuries.

Newcastle have been dealing with a major injury crisis in recent months, but that hasn’t stopped them from putting in some outstanding performances across the board.

Gordon spoke after the game about how difficult it was for the same 11 players to play over 90 minutes three times in a row.

Newcastle has very little depth.
There will be no time for the players who have started the last three games to catch their breath as they prepare for another big game against Everton on Thursday night.

Eddie Howe will again rely on his 10 outfield players who beat Chelsea, drew with PSG, and defeated Man United, with the injury problems only getting worse after Nick Pope was forced off against Man United.

Gordon was clearly concerned about the players’ fatigue and emphasized the importance of Newcastle scoring first against Manchester United so they weren’t chasing the game.

“It’s been really difficult, the same 11 players have played so many minutes, so we’re really tired,” Gordon told NUFCTV. The longer the game went on, the more it favored them because they were bringing in new players. So getting that first goal was huge, and we’re overjoyed.”

Newcastle are hoping for good injury news ahead of the winter schedule.

The manager will also want to ensure that no other Newcastle players are injured during that time, especially after Gordon came off late against Manchester United with some discomfort.

Newcastle now travels to Everton during the week, but they also have a big game away to Tottenham on Sunday and a big Champions League game against AC Milan next Wednesday, both of which will have a big impact on the rest of the season.
