Dennis Cirkin missed Sunderland’s draw against Millwall this weekend, and Regis Le Bris has revealed how long he will be sidelined. While a point away at The Den is not a bad result, Sunderland will be frustrated that they dropped all three points, with Millwall sealing a draw in the dying stages of the game.
Regis Le Bris has reminded his team that they must become more clinical and ruthless while leading a game, and they will undoubtedly need to perform well against a West Bromwich Albion side that is now in the top six. Fans, meanwhile, are eager to learn whether Dennis Cirkin will play after the Sunderland star had wrist surgery late last week.
Dennis Cirkin’s operation was successful, but he will not be returning this week. Regis Le Bris was speaking to the press today (via the Sunderland YouTube account) and was immediately asked for a status update on Cirkin and whether the full-back will be available for the game against West Brom. He replied: “Probably not tomorrow. We’ll have to wait and see how he feels while training.” When asked how the procedure went, Le Bris replied, “Yeah, he had no problems [with his surgery].”
So, while that’s good news in the long run, it appears Le Bris will need to find a left-back option for the visit of West Brom, which is where Sunderland’s squad depth will come in handy.
