Why Liverpool may blame Everton if Trent Alexander-Arnold joins Real Madrid.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Liverpool Football Club remains unclear. The club appears to be eager to extend the contracts of all three expiring stars, including Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah. The Dutch international’s recent statements about his contract predicament clearly stated as much. Meanwhile, the Reds have worked hard to guarantee that Jarell Quansah and Ibrahima Konate remain Liverpool’s future stars. Liverpool could largely blame Everton if Trent Alexander-Arnold signs with Real Madrid.

There’s no doubt that Spanish clubs will claim the majority of the credit for persuading Trent Alexander-Arnold to swap Anfield for the Bernabeu if his contract is allowed to expire. That being said, we wouldn’t be surprised if Blue supporters were ecstatic about their role (however tiny) in potentially stripping Liverpool of one of its best assets. Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that he believes our No.66 has already decided on a move to La Liga. Carlo Ancelotti, obviously, is quite interested in the player and familiar with his game, having seen him more frequently during his two-year tenure at Everton.

“From the player’s perspective, a move to Real Madrid will always be appealing,” the Englishman stated. “The management there already knows him from his time on Merseyside. “And if his contract situation is such that it allows him to explore a deal in January, I’ve heard there’s a very strong possibility that move will happen.” Trent Alexander-Arnold is giving priority to Liverpool contract talks. Forget what you’ve heard from Spain and other comparable claims. Trent is unlikely to force a move away from Anfield, especially before hearing Liverpool’s best contract offer.

It has to be seen whether the funds and the new competitive reality under Jurgen Klopp’s successor, Arne Slot, will be sufficient to deter the temptation of Real Madrid. If TAA moves to Madrid, Liverpool can only blame themselves. Trent, VVD, and Mo’s present contract circumstances are solely the result of sheer mismanagement inside the LFC organisation. I completely agree with the statements, but if TAA quits, it will be because he wants to leave, thus it is up to him, despite the folly of not holding him down a long time ago. YNWA.
