What Jordan Pickford told Anthony Gordon following the penalty miss and ‘intensity’ that threw Everton

The former Sunderland goalkeeper gets the better of Anthony Gordon at Goodison Park. Jordan Pickford has revealed what he said to Anthony Gordon after the final whistle at Goodison Park. The two England teammates faced off on Saturday night after the Magpies were granted a first-half penalty. However, Gordon’s shot was saved by the Sunderland-born goalkeeper, and the game remained scoreless.

Pickford explained after the game, “Gordon asked me why I went that way. And I just answered, “You went right the last two times, so I imagined you going to the left,” which he did. I trust my pencils. “I think it’s the first one I’ve saved for Everton in a while, so it’s pleasing.”We start with a clean slate and build from there. I’m thrilled because this is a pivotal stage in the game. It helped us get a draw, and we’re moving forward. The Everton goalkeeper appeared happy with the 0-0 draw against the Magpies, and the applause at full-time from home fans revealed that Newcastle is regarded as a Premier League force by certain teams.

Pickford stated, “I believe we know playing against Newcastle is going to be difficult. The intensity is high. We weren’t at our best, but we were resilient and needed to dig in. We want three points, but not losing is fantastic, and we have our first clean sheet on the board.”

Pickford kept his own antics to a minimum following the excitement of last season’s similar match. Pickford celebrated a 3-0 victory and teased Newcastle players at the conclusion. This time, he spoke quietly with Gordon before receiving applause from his own fans and made his way down the tunnel.
