Everton and Leicester City are in negotiations to determine the viability of signing a midfielder this summer. Jake O’Brien, Iliman Ndiaye, Tim Iroegbunam, and Jesper Lindstrom have all walked through the Goodison Park doors.
Leicester have also been active in preparation for their return to the Premier League, signing Caleb Okoli from Atalanta, Michael Golding from Chelsea, and Bobby De Cordova Reid from Fulham. Both teams, however, have not ruled out future negotiations and are interested in Juventus’ out-of-favour midfielder Arthur Melo. Arthur is not in Juventus’ plans, and his agents are looking into a possible move. According to the Italian daily Tutto Sport, Leicester and Everton are in negotiations to determine the viability of a trade for Arthur.
The Brazilian had a forgettable loan spell at Liverpool in 2022/23 and wants another chance to make an impact in the Premier League. He spent last season on loan at Fiorentina, where he shown his ability to overcome his injury problems by making 33 Serie A games.

Phillips’ career has reached a new low after struggling in the second half of last season on loan at West Ham. Sean Dyche’s side, who are vying for City’s number four spot, are unlikely to have the money to buy the £45 million midfielder outright and are instead exploring a possible loan deal, according to Football Insider. The Merseyside club has made four summer additions, but none of them are of Phillips’ caliber. Looking to establish his worth at a club that is constantly fighting in England’s top division, Phillips, who has four years left on his contract at the Etihad, believes the 2024-25 season will be possibly the most significant of his career.
