The NFL Top 100 for 2024 is complete, and a number of Ravens received votes from their colleagues to be included. Lamar Jackson rose 70 spots from his 2023 ranking to be selected as the second-greatest player in the history of the National Football League.

The NFL ranks the best players going into the current season in its annual “Top 100” list. Surprises cause controversy, even if real NFL players make the list by casting their votes.

NFL players cast their votes for the NFL 100 during the season. NFL Films filmmakers usually visit locker rooms at club facilities with paper ballots and ask players to rank the league’s top 20 players. Voting usually takes place late in the regular season.

This season was no different, as Patrick Mahomes, who won the Super Bowl for the second time in a row, came in at number four. His former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Tyreek Hill was ranked first, which even further infuriated fans. To everyone’s surprise, Lamar Jackson of the Ravens is named number two.

Lamar Jackson of the Ravens, the wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill, was voted the second-best player in the NFL by his peers on the NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players of 2024.” Thus, the standout quarterback for the Ravens has surpassed two-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes to become the highest-rated quarterback on this list.

After winning nearly all of the league’s MVP awards the previous season, Jackson would have become just the third player in the 14-year history of the countdown to win multiple best-player honors. Tom Brady, the quarterback for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was voted #1 three times, while Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, was voted #1 twice, including the previous season.
