The squad was given assurances by Sean Dyche that James Tarkowski would return soon.

James Tarkowski, a center  back who missed his second friendly due to injury, is expected to make a comeback during preseason, according to Everton. Earlier this month, at the team’s training camp in Ireland, the 31-year-old experienced a glute problem. As a precaution, he had to fly home before the game against Sligo Rovers.

The center defender was not in the starting lineup but was present when Everton lost 2-1 against Salford City after that tie. But Sean Dyche is optimistic that he will be back playing soon, and he might play in the Preston North End game the following week.

Tarkowski is only one of numerous Everton players who are now out by injuries. Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye were also absent from the Peninsula Stadium after participating in a game eight days ago on the west coast of Ireland. Nathan Patterson, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Vitalii Mykolenko were also not present on Saturday due to longer-term concerns. Jesper Lindstrom, a recent addition, was also left out, although on Tuesday night against Coventry City, the attacking midfielder might play.
