Everton were hammered 6-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday, April 15, leaving everyone fearful of relegation. Despite their recent victory over Burnley at Goodison Park, the Toffees are currently only two points above the bottom three following another two-point deduction. Fans are gradually turning against Sean Dyche, and following the recent drubbing in London, an easy choice might be taken to fire him. Everton to sack Sean Dyche? Coming out after the game and admitting that his teammates did not work hard enough, allowing Chelsea to play through them, was a terrible remark.

When players aren’t giving their all for the shirt or the manager, it’s a concerning indicator. James Tarkowski even admitted after the match that he felt ashamed, which is not what fans want in the midst of a relegation battle. With a big game against Nottingham Forest coming up at Goodison Park, Dyche is hanging on by a thread, and if it doesn’t happen before, a loss there might clinch his fate.

One thing is certain: the fans will turn out in large numbers for the Forest game, creating an atmosphere unlike anyplace else. If these players are unable to rise to the occasion, Dyche will be blamed, and if things do not go well, he may be packing his bags by this time next week.
