Newcastle United has learned the asking price for Manchester United’s star ahead of a January transfer.

Newcastle United will have to pay £40 million for the services of Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

Newcastle United are interested in signing Scott McTominay, according to TEAMtalk. With Sandro Tonali banned for the next ten months, the Magpies are aiming to strengthen their midfield in the winter transfer window.

The Magpies performed admirably in the 2022-23 season, finishing inside the top four in the Premier League and qualifying for the Champions League. Following that, they went in quest of a great midfielder and recruited Tonali from AC Milan for a large fee.

The former AC Milan midfielder had a fantastic start to life in England. But things have changed dramatically, and he now faces a lengthy ban. The 23-year-old was involved in illegal betting while in Milan and has now been sentenced to a 10-month ban.

The Italian international will not play any more games this season and will not even compete in next year’s Euro in Germany. Tonali’s absence means the Magpies must find a replacement as quickly as possible if they are to finish in the top four for the second time.

The Magpies have begun to hunt for players and have already identified a few. Scott McTominay of Manchester United is one of the names on their list. They were intrigued in him throughout the summer but made no moves.

They could, however, push harder this time. McTominay has fallen down the pecking order as the Red Devils have already signed several midfielders. However, Erik ten Hag has recently employed him due to injuries and bad form among several of their players.

While Ten Hag would like to keep him in order to have enough depth, the report claims that United would be willing to let him go for a sum of £40 million. With United eager to sell, the Magpies will almost certainly be able to get his services. It would be intriguing to see if McTominay is ready to leave his childhood club.
