“Lions DC Credits Alabama for Terrion Arnold’s Growth—But Shouldn’t Detroit Get More Credit?”

No matter where an NFL player ends up, the habits they develop in college often carry over. The Detroit Lions certainly believe this to be true with Terrion Arnold. General manager Brad Holmes acknowledged the role the Alabama Crimson Tide played in shaping the standout defensive back.

Arnold appeared in 16 games for the Lions, starting 15 of them as a cornerback. His impact on defense was undeniable for Coach Dan Campbell and his team. However, the Lions can’t take full credit for his development. Holmes highlighted the influence of Deshea Townsend in molding Arnold’s skills, as reported by Mark Inabinett of AL.com.

“I thought Deshea did a great job with him. And, you know, I expected no different. But, yeah, I got a lot of excitement for Terrion,” Holmes said.

Throughout his rookie season, Arnold delivered impressive stats, recording 60 total tackles, including 47 solo. His numbers are expected to rise as he continues to refine his game under Coach Campbell.

“He’s got the right attitude… He’s a very coachable player. He cares, he’s passionate, he’s prideful, so he’s going to do the necessary things. He wants to be a great player, we want him to be a great player, so I have no doubt that he’s going to continue to develop,” Holmes added.

As Arnold heads into his second season with the Lions, expectations are high. With Detroit aiming for a Super Bowl after years of near misses, the former Alabama star is poised to play a key role in their pursuit of success.
