The Green Bay Packers will have some money to spend in free agency this year. They have not traditionally signed free agents, but they scored home runs last offseason by adding running back Josh Jacobs and safety Xavier McKinney. Perhaps this summer, general manager Brian Gutekunst will decide to go all out in free agency. Some of the roster’s most pressing needs this offseason include defensive tackle, wide receiver, and cornerback. It will be intriguing to see where the Green Bay Packers choose to spend money in free agency this offseason.
Pro Football Network Predicts That the Green Bay Packers Will Sign Defensive Tackle Teair Tart This Offseason
This offseason, Pro Football Network predicted which free agents will join with each NFL team. They projected that the Green Bay Packers will sign Teair Tart, a defensive tackle. Tart spent last season with the Los Angeles Chargers and has previously played for the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans in the NFL. According to Pro Football Network, the Green Bay Packers could potentially make this move:
“The Green Bay Packers are in an intriguing situation, with a reasonably well-established roster at most positions. If Tee Higgins enters free agency this winter, they would be an intriguing prospective destination, and they might be a trade partner for a No. 1 wide receiver. They are also an intriguing option for a center or cornerback.
However, one of their other needs is defensive tackle, with Tedarrell Slaton set to be a free agent. They have interesting options in Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt, but could benefit from adding another option. Teair Tart may not be the most headline-grabbing free agent, but he has proven to be a valuable contributor during his career. Tart ranks 22nd on our List of the Top 100 free agents and would help boost a defense that ranked 10th last year.
That is an important area in the NFC North, given the Lions’ powerful rushing game and the Bears’ projected offensive philosophy under Ben Johnson. It is no secret that the Green Bay Packers need to strengthen their defensive line. Tart finished the season with the Los Angeles Chargers with 29 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception, and two pass deflections. The defensive line was one of the team’s problems last season, and Tart’s presence would immediately strengthen it.
Other Options

Cornerback D.J. Reed, who may not return to the New York Jets, is a top choice for a contender in free agency. The Green Bay Packers, who are expected to lose Jaire Alexander, may also consider Teair Tart as an option for their defense.
