The Green Bay Packers are already on vacation, but there is no such thing as downtime for an NFL front office. Following their removal from Super Bowl 59 contention, the Packers have some homework to do in the summer, including upgrading Jordan Love’s downfield weapons.Ben Solak of ESPN recently made a major prediction for the Packers’ offseason, stating that Green Bay is anticipated to pursue a trade for New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, with Romeo Doubs as part of the package.
Expect them to pursue Tee Higgins, but if he proves too expensive, they might package someone like Romeo Doubs — who will be in the final year of his rookie contract in 2025 — to get a dissatisfied star from another team. Garrett Wilson? How about DK Metcalf? I would bet on the latter. Will the Green Bay Packers go after Wilson? Wilson is unquestionably one of the most exciting players in the game. The Jets were a letdown in the 2024 NFL season, winning only five games despite having Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback. Wilson, on the other hand, has the potential to shine in a more collaborative setting.
Despite the on- and off-field troubles in New York, he had 1,104 receiving yards with seven touchdowns in 2024. It is also worth remembering that Wilson has one more guaranteed year on his contract before a potential club option kicks in for the 2026 NFL season.
