The Green Bay Packers’ oldest opponent, the Chicago Bears, are looking for a new head coach. Of course, this occurred after they dismissed Matt Eberflus in the middle of the 2024 NFL season. Chicago has been interviewing a variety of prospects, including former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, whose contract was not renewed by the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to McCarthy, the Bears asked for permission to interview current Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich. Stenavich has been the Packers’ offensive coordinator since 2022, following Nathaniel Hackett’s resignation. He formerly served as Green Bay’s offensive line coach. Because Matt LaFleur is the one who calls plays and designs the offense, many fans outside of the Packers base are unfamiliar with Stenavich, as the Bears faithful pointed out on social media following Chicago’s statement that they had finished their interview with him:
As fans may be aware, Stenavich is not the only Packers coach now being interviewed. Jeff Hafley, the defensive coordinator, recently interviewed for the head coaching position with the New York Jets.
