“He’d Be A Great Addition On The Edge”: Green Bay Packers Land Georgia Bulldogs Defensive Star In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft

The Green Bay Packers will host the 2025 NFL Draft. With the Packers in the offseason, it will be intriguing to see which positions they will target in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Green Bay Packers’ offseason needs include cornerback, defensive line, and finding a top wide receiver for quarterback Jordan Love. The Packers have a chance to unearth some defensive talent in the draft from the Georgia Bulldogs. They selected cornerback Eric Stokes from Georgia in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Green Bay Packers have chosen Mykel Williams, a defensive lineman from the Georgia Bulldogs, as their 33rd pick. In the latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft Kyle Crabbs of the33rdteam.com has developed his newest 2025 NFL mock draft. With the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 draft, he sees the Green Bay Packers selecting Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Mykel Williams. Williams, who stands 6’5″ and weighs 265 pounds, recently finished his junior season at Georgia. Crabbs remarked on the Packers’ pick:

“The Packers’ season came to an abrupt end in Philadelphia on Sunday night, with a dismal performance against the Eagles. Turnovers were a major factor, and while having as many as four on offensive was detrimental, not having any on defense made things even more difficult. The Packers’ pass rush squad could benefit from more bite, as Rashan Gary was the lone defender to finish the season with more than five sacks. Mykel Williams has remarkable length and easy power at his disposal; he’d be an excellent complement to the Packers’ edge as they look to get over the hump.”

The Green Bay Packers sorely need a pass rusher. This past season, Mykel Williams recorded 21 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass deflection for the Bulldogs. Williams has the ability to be a pass rusher in the NFL.

Other Defensive Help

Aside from potentially picking Mykel Williams in the first round this season, the Packers might also select a cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft. It would be surprising if Green Bay did not select defensive help in the first round of the NFL draft this year. Williams will almost certainly be drafted in the first round. If he is still on the board by the time the Packers are, he will undoubtedly be considered based on the other moves Green Bay makes this offseason.
