$859.5 million: Cardinals Swoop in and Sign Minnesota Vikings Wide Receiver to Futures Contract

With only eight teams remaining in the NFL playoffs, the offseason is in full swing for the 24 losers. Teams are actively signing players to futures contracts and managing roster changes across the league. One of those trades today affects the Minnesota Vikings. The Arizona Cardinals have signed Trishton Jackson, a Minnesota Vikings wide receiver. You may recall the name Trishton Jackson. He played wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings this season and has been with the organization since 2021. Jackson spent one season as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams following the 2020 NFL draft before joining the Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings published their list of players signed to futures contracts yesterday, and Jackson’s name was not among them. However, he had a new opportunity today when he was included to the Arizona Cardinals’ roster of players signed to futures contracts. Jackson made a strong impression during the 2024 preseason, recording several catches and gaining significant yards. However, due to the Vikings’ depth at wide receiver, he spent his entire stint with the organization on the practice squad.

Jackson made a significant impact in Week 1 of the preseason, recording four catches for 100 yards and a touchdown. In Week 2, he added three catches for 39 yards and another touchdown. By Week 3, he had only two catches for 15 yards, but he still scored his third preseason touchdown.

So, throughout the 2024 preseason, he had 9 catches for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns, demonstrating his potential and generating excitement among Vikings fans. Despite this, he was added to the practice squad. Now he has the possibility to join another squad and demonstrate his abilities.
