The Green Bay Packers have had at least one First Team All-Pro in five consecutive seasons, an incredible feat. It began in 2020, with Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, David Bakhtiari, Corey Linsley, and Za’Darius Smith all receiving the title. This year, safety Xavier McKinney was the only Packers player to get the distinction. Indeed, the Packers’ last two teams, in 2023 and 2024, were loaded with young talent. There are relatively few players on the roster with All-Pro potential, and the team needs more of them to take the next step toward challenging for the Super Bowl.
Fortunately, McKinney is on the recruiting trail, attempting to re-sign one once favorite Green Bay Packers star. Green Bay Packers’ All-Pro Xavier McKinney is recruiting Davante Adams. Adams, who has spent the last three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders and the New York Jets, has made it clear in recent days that he is eager to return to Green Bay.
In a recent appearance on the “Up and Adams” podcast, the three-time All-Pro was asked what he felt about the Packers potentially signing wide receiver Tee Higgins, who is set to become a free agent this year (unless the Cincinnati Bengals use the franchise tag). “Not a bad decision… Tee is more than worthy. He can be the top player on any squad. Adams stated, “I’m excited to see what he does.”
In a comment on the post that contained the video, McKinney said the following As one can see, McKinney is instructing Adams to “pull back up.” In other words, “Come Back to the Packers!” Of course, the former Packers wide receiver remains under contract with the Jets. However, releasing Adams allows New York to save $30 million on their salary cap. Furthermore, the Jets are anticipated to move on from Rodgers.
Based on these reasons, it seems likely that Adams will become a free agent for the first time in his career. If that happens, he appears to be interested in returning to Green Bay, and the Packers are desperate for a top-tier wide receiver.
