The Green Bay Packers make a definitive statement on Jordan Love’s future with the team.

The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love did not have their 2024 season conclude as they had intended. Green Bay were outmatched on offense and special teams during their 22-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. While the defense did an excellent job of restricting the Eagles’ offense after costly Packers errors, they were also unable to manufacture any turnovers of their own.

Love, for his part, was simply not adept at this game. He finished the night with 20 completions on 33 passing attempts for 212 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions. Of course, he was without one of his best wide receivers, Christian Watson, who tore his ACL in Week 18. During the game, Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed both sustained injuries. Not only that, but left guard Elgton Jenkins was forced to leave the game with a shoulder injury, and Josh Myers sustained a severe leg injury in the last minutes.

However, many fans are impatient and interpret Packers losses as personal attacks on themselves, their families, and their livelihoods. Green Bay Packers fans want to move on from Jordan Love. These fans, many of whom were unhappy when the Packers drafted Love in the first place, are hoping that the team will replace their starting quarterback this offseason.

Of course, the Packers think otherwise, since they recently signed Love to a four-year, $220 million contract. Even if Green Bay wanted to get rid of Love after a poor postseason performance (remember, Brett Favre once threw six picks in a postseason game), moving that deal would be practically hard.

Former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Mark Tauscher makes a definitive statement about Jordan Love’s future.

During the postgame show on ESPN Milwaukee, former Packers offensive lineman Mark Tauscher issued a clear message to supporters who want Love out: “Jordan Love is the franchise quarterback. Period. “Fin,” Tauscher said. He did say, however, “He has to play better than what we saw this year.” When Homer inquired about how long Love would be the franchise quarterback, Tauscher replied, “We’re not there yet. We are not doing that.”

Love certainly did not play his best football this season. However, keep in mind that he played hurt for the majority of the first part of the season, and his offense suffered numerous injuries. Hopefully, 2025 will bring more healthy play, an improved wide receiver room, and a more disciplined offensive line (and quarterback).
