Brett Favre pleaded not Guilty: Brett Favre, a Green Bay Packers legend, is facing serious consequences for making an uneducated statement about the Los Angeles wildfires.

The NFC Wild Card game between the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles will take place Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Because the Eagles are the second seed in the conference, the game will be played in Philadelphia. In other news, one of the NFC Wild Card games will be moved to a neutral location. The Los Angeles Rams will host the Minnesota Vikings at Arizona Cardinals’ State Farm Field. This change of location is due to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, which have burned homes and neighborhoods and taken the lives of numerous individuals.

Unfortunately, many people have used the horrific accident as a political ploy to advance their goals. This is true for politicians and fans from both parties. Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Brett Favre Makes a Post Addressing the Los Angeles Wildfires Brett Favre, a three-time NFL MVP and Pro Football Hall of Famer, has received a lot of attention over the last year for his support of President-elect Donald Trump. Of course, this is nothing new; he has always been an outspoken backer of conservative Republican candidates.

California’s Governor is Democrat Gavin Newsom, an outspoken critic of Trump and the Republican Party. With flames raging in Southern California, many people are condemning him for failing to prepare for such a tragedy. One particularly worrying issue is that fire hydrants in certain Los Angeles areas have gone dry.

On social media, Favre expressed empathy for wildfire victims but criticized the use of salt water to extinguish fires. A middle school scientific background is sufficient to understand that using salt water to extinguish flames can have negative consequences. For example, salt in the water will render firefighting equipment ineffective.

Furthermore, salt reduces the effectiveness of water in extinguishing fires, and once the water evaporates, the salt left behind renders the ground barren and inhospitable. Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre is dragged for his idea to use water from the Pacific Ocean to put out the Los Angeles wildfires. As one might expect, Packers fans and many others were eager to point out the flaw in Favre’s thinking on social media:

While using sea water is clearly not the answer, hopefully the city of Los Angeles and the state of California will figure something out soon. And ideally, city and state authorities will be better prepared to prevent this from happening again.
