Why Chiefs won the 2024 NFL trade deadline
The NFL quickly realized what the Kansas City Chiefs’ acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins could entail for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions. Hopkins wasted no time in making fun of his old squad. However, it was evident at the conclusion of Tuesday that the Chiefs had won the 2024 NFL trade deadline.
Remember that this is simply a trade-deadline victory. The Chiefs won’t necessarily win the Super Bowl for the third time in a row. For the time being, it merely provides them a greater opportunity. The major determinant of how the remainder of the season and the playoffs unfold will be injuries.
The Chiefs recruited pass rusher Josh Uche in addition to Hopkins to bolster their receiving room, which was severely damaged by injuries. Hopkins should have the biggest boost to another Super Bowl run, even though Uche might also have an impact.
Since joining the league with the Houston Texans through the 2013 NFL Draft, he has been selected five times to the All-Pro team. And he was acquired by the Chiefs for a potentially fourth-round pick in the fifth round.
Hopkins will, however, be making his first real postseason run since 2021. That matters, he remarked, according to usatoday.com.
