After a trade, Carson Beck of Georgia is expected to replace the $312 million star quarterback.
Carson Beck, the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, wants to keep his team competitive for the SEC championship and, eventually, another trip to the College Football Playoffs. Prior to the 2025 NFL draft, Beck is also regarded as one of the best quarterback prospects.
Beck still has a chance to be chosen in the first round even if the Georgia quarterback hasn’t had the best start to the season. In his first seven games, Beck has completed 66% of his passes for 1,993 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. Beck had already thrown five interceptions in his last two games going into the team’s rivalry game against the Florida Gators on November 2. NFL scouts probably won’t be overjoyed by this statistic.
Heading into the team’s Nov. 2 rivalry matchup against the Florida Gators, Beck had thrown five interceptions in his previous two games. Not a stat that NFL scouts are likely thrilled to see. CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson floated an interesting scenario in a 2025 NFL mock draft that has the New York Jets moving back into the end of the first round to select Beck. Wilson has the Jets moving up from No. 41 to No. 32 by striking a trade with the Minnesota Vikings.
