Everton struck by illness bug again, as absences explained.

Sean Dyche spoke after Everton’s Premier League match against Ipswich at Portman Road. Everton’s dressing room experienced illness for the second time this season this week. Jesper Lindstrom was injured on Thursday, therefore he was unable to travel to Ipswich Town. Beto made the matchday squad, but he was also a doubt, according to Sean Dyche following the win at Portman Road.

The troubles occurred against the backdrop of injury issues that hampered Dyche’s preparations for the game, with James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam sitting out after picking up problems during the international break, adding to the long-term absences of Youssef Chermiti and Armando Broja. Jarrad Branthwaite sat out as a precaution as he works to regain strength after a quad injury.

Everton’s camp was struck by illness early in the season, resulting in Vitalii Mykolenko, James Garner, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin missing the Carabao Cup penalty shootout defeat to Southampton. After the win over Ipswich, Dyche confirmed Lindstrom’s absence due to illness, saying: “We’ve had a touch of that in the camp, and it was too much for him to get down here after coming down with it on Thursday. Beto had some illness as well, but he made it.”
