Everton has the opportunity to extend their unbeaten streak to three games, but it will be difficult as they face an Ipswich Town side that is on fire. The Toffees received a lot of criticism over the first five games of the season, but things are improving as Sean Dyche wins back some of his doubters. Everton will be without a few players due to injury, including James Garner, Tim Iroegbunam, and Nathan Patterson, while Jarrad Branthwaite will undergo a late fitness test. Patterson has not played since suffering an injury against Chelsea earlier this year, and many believe Dyche does not trust him.
However, Patterson’s setback did allow the Toffees to discover a potential right-back star in Garner, who performed admirably. However, with all of these injuries, Everton appears to be focusing on a number of academy players during first-team training. Everton academy players Roman Dixon, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Nathan Patterson have all received minutes under manager Sean Dyche. And it appears that Everton will continue its tradition of developing young players and turning them into superstars at Goodison Park.
Interestingly, three academy players were seen in first-team training ahead of Ipswich. The Everton academy shared training photographs on their Instagram, revealing Roman Dixon, Harrison Armstrong, and Zan-Luk Leban. Everton FC has an exciting future ahead of them. Roman Dixon has already made three appearances for the Everton first squad this season. He’s looked confident at the highest level, using his speed to follow down opponents and gritty tackling abilities to try to reclaim the ball as soon as possible. Harrison Armstrong has been establishing a name for himself at the academy level, and he was given the opportunity to make his senior debut against Tottenham. Zan-Luk Leban is the oldest of the group, at 21.
