Against Arizona, Doubs grabbed a 10-yard touchdown pass from Love in the second quarter and a 20-yard touchdown reception in the third. This was significant for Love and the team because Doubs did not participate last week against the Los Angeles Rams due to a one-game suspension imposed by the team. Doubs received a lot of support from his teammates, particularly the star quarterback. Following the game, Love chatted with Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Jordan Love stated the following about the wide receiver:

“Just having Rome back out on the field was fantastic. He went out there and made some big plays, including two touchdown catches and several others before that. It’s great to have Rome back out there.” Doubs needed to be involved in the offense against Arizona. He hasn’t had a fantastic start to the season, so maybe this can help him get going. Love spoke with Matt Schneidman of The Athletic about the 20-yard touchdown pass he made to Romeo Doubs in the third quarter. He stated, “They went all-out and did a good job with that look, which we hadn’t seen from them before.” The extra defender was right there on the right side, and Romeo was running a double move on the outside. I knew I wouldn’t be able to get around him or get away, so I trusted Rome and threw him up one. It was a one-on-one situation, and he made a fantastic catch and finish in the end zone.

One of the characteristics of this offense is that it is unknown who will be the star on a weekly basis. It was encouraging to see Doubs perform well following his one-game suspension.
