Everton target Football Insider has learned that Jose Mourinho is content with his current position at Fenerbahce. However, the Portuguese is thought to be content in Turkey right now, though he might be open to a future Premier League position. Mourinho took over as manager of the Super Lig heavyweights in June of this year, and the team is now fourth in the league after seven games.
The veteran manager is one of numerous candidates to replace Dyche at Goodison Park following the club’s terrible start to the season. Mourinho has already worked with the Friedkin Group during his time at Roma, which is one of the reasons he is regarded as a potential transfer target for the Merseyside club. Everton are now preparing with Sean Dyche, despite Jose Mourinho’s links. Even though the club has been connected with employing Mourinho, they are now planning with Dyche in mind for the future.
However, Football Insider stated that there have been no contract talks with Dyche, whose contract ends next summer. The ‘Special One’ won the Europa Conference League at Roma when he last worked with The Friedkin Group in 2022, but he hasn’t played in the Premier League since 2021, when he left Tottenham. Mourinho has vast experience in the English Premier League, having spent two successful seasons at Chelsea and one at Manchester United.
Everton has only won once this season in the Premier League, placing the team 16th in the league. However, the Merseyside giants have gone three games without losing heading into the international break, and their performances have begun to improve.
