Romeo Doubs’ suspension from the Green Bay Packers has been extended for a year due to a rape case.

One day before the Green Bay Packers’ Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Rams, the team confirmed Romeo Doubs’ suspension. Although the receiver missed practice on Thursday and Friday for “personal reasons,” the news came as a surprise. Speculation stated that Doubs had grown dissatisfied with his role, despite leading the club in snaps played and ranking third in targets, only five behind the leading receiver. We haven’t heard from Doubs himself yet, but coach Matt LaFleur has issued an update on the 24-year-old receiver.

Green Bay Packers expect Romeo Doubs to return to the squad in Week 6. Romeo Doubs was suspended for only one game. Now that the Green Bay Packers have gone past Week 5, he should be eligible for their Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Following the Packers’ 24-19 victory over the Rams, Coach LaFleur addressed Doubs’ status, thus confirming what was already known.

Doubs is scheduled to meet with the Packers today, where he and the team are anticipated to resolve any outstanding difficulties. As LaFleur observed, distractions occur, but it is now up to everyone to handle the situation from here. If everything goes as planned, the Packers’ 6-foot-2 receiver will return to the lineup in Week 6. Through four games, he has 12 receptions for 169 yards and an average of 42.3 receiving yards per game, a new career high.
