Packers supporters are thrilled with McKinney’s performance so far this season. Few of them would have predicted that he would have five interceptions in the first five weeks of the 2024 NFL season. After the game, The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman asked McKinney if he would have thought it was ridiculous if someone had told him he would have a pick in each of the first five games. McKinney responded: “Nah. I would not have thought you were insane at all. I went into the season with a mission, and that mission will not cease until we play our final game. “I’m coming for everything I didn’t get before.”

This was the answer of the former New York Giants safety. It would be insane if he intercepted the ball in every game this season, but that is unlikely. Matt LaFleur, the head coach, praises the safety McKinney is only 25 years old, yet he is a star in this league. Following the game, head coach Matt LaFleur spoke with the media on McKinney’s performance throughout the first five weeks. LaFleur stated: “I do not want to jinx it. It is unlike anything I have ever seen. The guy simply has a natural talent for football and excellent ball skills. He’s really instinctive and sharp, so he can anticipate and make plays, and he usually does.”

This season, the defense is more aggressive on the backside thanks to Xavier McKinney and freshman Evan Williams. McKinney will continue to be the story of the Packers’ defense in 2024.
