Following the Dallas Cowboys’ embarrassing 44-19 loss against the New Orleans Saints on September 15, head coach Mike McCarthy of the Cowboys is facing some criticism. Although supporters are usually the first in demanding that players and coaches resign, some members of the media are beginning to join the chorus and propose McCarthy’s replacement as a coach. According to one NFL writer and analyst, he knows of the “ideal” replacement for the Cowboys.

In a September 15 story, Joe Summers of Sport DFW claims that the Cowboys vs. Saints game was when the “perfect” McCarthy successor was “made clear.”

The NFL writer and analyst said, “Klint Kubiak, the offensive coordinator for New Orleans, is quickly becoming a popular head coaching candidate.” “Derek Carr gave Jerry Jones a perfect look at someone who could replace McCarthy once he’s let go, leading the Saints to scores on every drive in Week 1 and carrying that momentum into the fourth quarter against the Cowboys.”

“Just like in 2023, Dallas was overmatched against superior schemes,” he continued. Kubiak, a young, intelligent football player, might be one of Jones’ first picks in the summer. Aside from hiring a lame-duck coach, which is obviously a strategic error, Jones needs to think about other options. McCarthy will continue to lead the team for the remainder of the 2024–25 season, but after that season, someone else will most likely take over.
