Sporting CP has approached Barcelona player Vitor Roque, but Everton is yet to make a bid, according to Fabrizio Romano. The transfer journalist said on X [14 August] that Portuguese giants Sporting have approached Barcelona for Roque, while the Toffees have yet to plan their next move. It was claimed by Catalunya [14 August] that Sean Dyche’s team had made a move for the teenage forward, but Romano claims no formal offer has arrived in the Barcelona boardroom. According to Romano, Sporting has approached Barça about Vitor Roque, who is one of their priorities within the final two weeks. “Roque, considering options as Everton never sent any formal bid to Barcelona so far.”
Everton have yet to bid for Roque. Everton must act quickly if they are to have any hope of acquiring Vitor Roque. The Toffees may have to pay up to £29.5 million to sign the potential talent [Sport, 14 August], who has two goals in 14 La Liga outings for Barcelona’s first squad. After a promising start to his professional career in Brazil, Barcelona lost no time in signing Roque to the club’s first-team roster, with the goal of following in Neymar’s footsteps.
Everton’s striker options remain questionable as the transfer season closes, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto both firmly linked with moves away. A resignation from Calvert-Lewin may pave the way for a formal offer to Roque, or vice versa. However, if they are to achieve their goal, they must first overcome stiff European opposition.
