After joining Everton, Jesper Lindstrøm seemed to have transformed. Following a very large transfer to Napoli last summer, he failed to live up to the hype and received a lot of criticism. In actuality, the athlete had walked into a really difficult scenario. Napoli had recently won the championship and were imploding in the midst of an ego struggle orchestrated by their president, Aurelio De Laurentiis. Ultimately, they finished tenth in Serie A last season, which was a great disappointment. Newcomers like Lindstrøm struggled to prosper in the middle of controversy, as Victor Osimhen’s statistics dropped significantly.

Now loaned to Everton with the prospect of a permanent move, the attacker may begin to put it all behind him. A goal on his debut against Preston North End is obviously beneficial, and after the game, he spoke with the reporters about how pleased he is right now. He told Danish daily Ekstra Bladet, “It feels nice. That’s why you play football: to win games, score goals, and assist – so it’s a good start, and I’m looking forward to more.”As I told my agent, it feels quite natural to be here at Everton. It feels like I have been here for six months.

Everyone looks after me, communicates effectively, and has been helpful to me. “I had a rough year at Napoli, but now it is good to be here, and I feel like I have rekindled my pleasure in football. “It is fantastic.” Lindstrøm and his new club have exciting times ahead of them.
