When the Green Bay Packers chose to transfer quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a future Hall of Famer and four-time NFL MVP, to the New York Jets during the summer, they faced a tremendous deal of criticism. Naturally, the Packers’ desire to give Jordan Love more offensive control led them to decide to trade Rodgers.

Naturally, the 2020 first-round selection was made with the intention of someday replacing one of the best players to have ever played the game, Aaron Rodgers. The Packers believed Love was ready after three years of training under future Hall of Famer Tom Clements, head coach Matt LaFleur, and quarterbacks coach Love.

Similar to when Rodgers succeeded Brett Favre in 2008, the Packers’ new starting quarterback faced unceasing hostility and criticism from both his own supporters and the media.

Colin Cowherd, a well-known sports expert and talk show broadcaster, was among Love’s most vocal opponents. Following Green Bay’s preseason matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals, Cowherd made the case on his program that Love ought to just give up and quit football.
