Alan Myers has acknowledged he would not be surprised if John Textor or the Manoukian Group attempted to take control Everton following recent occurrences at Goodison Park. The Toffees acknowledged that talks with the Friedkin Group had ceased, with Toffees insider Bryan King told Goodison News on July 7 that the agreement had met a “stumbling block” because of money owing to 777 Partners.

Textor and Manoukian were both interested in acquiring the Blues until Friedkin came into an exclusive agreement with Farhad Moshiri, and Sky Sports pundit Myers believes both parties may return to Goodison. On Friday (19 July), Myers said on X, “It wouldn’t surprise me if Manoukian group and Textor come back, in the end it’s who’s willing to pay the money.” Who will take over Everton after the new Friedkin update?

Following the recent occurrences on Merseyside, it appears that the race to succeed Moshiri at Goodison Park has once again been thrown wide open. While it is believed that the Friedkin Group is not completely out of the picture despite this new setback, parties such as Textor and the Manoukian consortium will be licking their lips once more.

However, as Myers indicates, it now boils down to who is willing to pay Moshiri’s asking price while also accepting the debt owing to 777 Partners and other creditors, which has already caused so much difficulties. Hopefully, someone will step up to execute a takeover sooner rather than later, for while the Toffees have adequate funds for the time being, this will not be the case indefinitely.

Let’s hope Myers is correct and several parties rejoin the fold in the coming weeks before things become too nasty.
