Jordan Pickford, Everton’s goalkeeper, has been one of the Premier League’s best in recent years. His outstanding efforts have helped Everton avoid relegation for the past two seasons. Pickford’s buttery fingers and error-prone disposition are no longer the source of vitriol from a certain group of fans. Pickford has been Everton’s rescue multiple times this season. He has maintained eight clean sheets, but he has also made some fantastic saves to keep Everton in games.

The Englishman has made 123 saves in the 2022-23 season, ranking third in the league. He has a save percentage of 71.3% and eight clean sheets to his credit. Pickford also ranks third in progressive passing distance. The 29-year-old is unquestionably one of Everton’s top players and one of the league’s greatest goalkeepers.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is a big objective for Manchester United.

His contract was up in the summer of 2024, and he had yet to negotiate a contract extension. Uncertainty regarding his contract, combined with Everton’s relegation struggle, prompted conjecture over his future at Goodison Park. Tottenham Hotspur intended to take advantage of the situation by signing the Englishman as a successor for Hugo Lloris. Chelsea had also been keeping an eye on Pickford, as they planned to restructure their goalkeeping department. Pickford signed a new contract with Everton that will keep him there until 2027, putting an end to any speculation. However, this has not prevented him from being linked with a move elsewhere.

With Lloris stating his intention to quit Tottenham, the North London club is seeking for a replacement and sees Pickford as one of the choices. Tottenham are not the only ones interested in signing Pickford. According to talkSPORT, Manchester United is trying to replace David De Gea this summer, and Pickford is at the top of their wish list. The article claims that the Toffees might deal Pickford for about £30 million. De Gea’s contract expires this summer, but he has the option of extending it for one year. MUFC have been doing checks on Pickford, and he has emerged as the leading candidate to replace the Spanish goalkeeper.

United will compete in the Champions League next season, and Pickford could get an opportunity to participate in the famous league. Regardless of De Gea’s future, the Red Devils hope to sign Pickford this summer. To avoid a third consecutive relegation battle, Everton must keep their finest players and strengthen their roster.
