Everton are one step away from completing a deal agreement, according to reports.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Everton are close to completing the signing of Napoli playmaker Jesper Lindstrom. According to page 11 of the Italian newspaper’s 18 July print edition, the Toffees are just one step away from signing the 24-year-old Dane, with a loan-to-buy agreement being concluded. An initial loan will be followed by the chance for Everton to permanently sign him from Naples for a sum of roughly £21 million. Lindstrom has been in Serie A for just under a year, joining Napoli from Eintracht Frankfurt for a comparable cost last summer, but new boss Antonio Conte is willing to let the player go after only 413 league minutes in 2023-24.

Everton prepares to sign Jesper Lindstrom. If Everton sign Lindstrom, initially on loan, he will become Sean Dyche’s third senior signing of the window. So far this summer, the team has welcomed Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam to Goodison Park, and Lindstrom would provide an attacking output from central or wide positions.

Lindstrom’s move to Italy has not gone as planned, with the player only making two starts in Serie A and 20 substitute appearances in comparison. Everton have received monies for both Ben Godfrey and Lewis Dobbin, as well as the expected sale of Amadou Onana in the coming days, putting the club in a position to reinvest in the squad, which is excellent news for Merseyside fans.

The player will be hoping, as much as his new team, that his career can be realigned under the harsh lights of the Premier League.
