Alan Shearer cautions the footballer that ignoring Leicester City will not aid his career.

Juventus winger Matias Soule has decided not to move to the Premier League with City or West Ham, and is focused on finishing his career in Serie A with Roma. Leicester City’s pursuit of Matias Soule appears to be all but ended, with the Juventus forward reportedly rejecting a move to the Premier League. City have been heavily connected with Soule in recent weeks, fighting with Roma for his signing. However, while it appeared that the transfer war would be won by the club that fulfilled Juventus’ asking price, the 21-year-old’s personal preference appears to be important.

It was originally rumored that, while Soule preferred a long-term stay in Serie A, he was open to a move to City. However, Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Wednesday night that Soule has firmly chosen to move to Roma and has no desire to join City or West Ham, the other Premier League clubs rumored to be interested.

The Italian city is only an hour from where Soule spent last season on loan at Frosinone, and he already has pals at Roma in fellow Argentinians Paulo Dybala and Leandro Paredes. He believes that integrating into life at Roma would be easier than in England. The capital club has presented a proposal of €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses, pending approval between Roma and Juventus. That’s the identical offer City is said to have made. City’s attention has now shifted to other targets. They have been linked with AC Milan’s Belgian international Alexis Saelemaekers as a winger, and Celtic’s Matt O’Riley has been mentioned as an offensive midfield target.
