Everton want to sign Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom this summer, which might help fund a move for Mason Greenwood, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. According to the Italian news outlet’s website (15 July), the Toffees are interested in the Denmark international, and Napoli is willing to sell for roughly £25 million. It is claimed that if they sell him, they will use the proceeds to make a move for Manchester United outcast Greenwood. Everton prepares for new transfer developments. Sean Dyche has made improving the offensive department a priority this summer, and rightfully so.
Last season, the Toffees only scored more goals than relegated Burnley and Sheffield United, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to leave as well [TBR, 13 July] in order to prevent losing him for free when his contract ends next year. Arnaut Danjuma also left at the end of his loan, but the club has signed Iliman Ndiaye permanently and re-signed Jack Harrison on loan; however, more is required.
Lindstrom is a quality international who can play anywhere on the front line, and with Napoli willing to selling and even looking for a successor, a deal appears to be in the works. It won’t be cheap, but after agreeing on a £18 million fee for Jaden Philogene before he moved to Aston Villa and then collecting £50 million for Amadou Onana, the money are available to complete the deal if they want to.
