Player undergoes a satisfactory medical for Everton

Ipswich Town are allegedly close to signing Jacob Greaves. Everton-linked defender Jacob Greaves is scheduled to have a medical with a Premier League rival, according to sources. The centre-back came up through Hull City’s junior levels, helping the club win League One promotion and just missing out on the Championship play-offs last season.

He’s made 176 appearances for his boyhood club, scoring six goals and was chosen in the EFL Championship Team of the Season for 2023-24. Greaves had been rumored to have admirers at Everton, and he was maybe identified as a replacement for Jarrad Branthwaite if he signed with Manchester United. Sean Dyche’s side were adamant that Branthwaite would not be sold cheaply, however.

The Toffees may lack a center-back after losing Ben Godfrey to Atalanta. However, Greaves is reportedly close to joining Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town. According to The Athletic, the 23-year-old has been granted permission to undergo a medical at Portman Road.

Jaden Philogene, who has been linked with Barcelona, West Ham, and Crystal Palace, could be leaving Hull for Ipswich in a double deal. According to The Athletic, Ipswich has offered £35 million for the Tigers’ prized pair, and a deal is likely but not yet agreed. Philogene, 22, admitted last week that he would prefer a move to the Premier League.

“I chose the Premier League because it is the clearest offer I have, but my dream is still La Liga,” according to him. “Barca is my dream, and I hope to sign for them one day. “My idols are Ronaldinho and Neymar.”
