Everton has concluded a deal to sign Omari Benjamin. The striker joins the Blues’ under-21s after leaving Arsenal at the end of last season, and has signed a three-year contract. Benjamin spent time on trial with Everton during the 2023-24 season. He scored in a 2-1 victory over Tottenham, the eventual Premier League 2 champions. The 18-year-old has represented Wales at the under-19 level. On his move to Everton, Benjamin told the club’s website: “This is a tremendously exciting chance for me. I’m eager to demonstrate my abilities on the field and am looking forward to what the future holds at Everton.

“When I came here on trial, the boys and staff were really nice, there was a good feel to the club and everyone was really welcoming so it made to easy to sign here.” “I would describe myself as an exciting forward who enjoys driving at opponents and scoring goals. I’m really eager to get started. This season, I just want to demonstrate what I’m capable of and, in the long run, get an opportunity to impress in the senior team setup and, one day, play for Everton and serve the club in any way I can.”

Gareth Prosser, Everton’s director of academy, said: “We are happy to welcome Omari to Everton. Despite facing stiff competition from other clubs, our staff worked hard to attract him to Finch Farm. “Omari has a lot of talent and we look forward to working with him to help fulfil his undoubted potential.”

Dele Alli steps up his comeback as the ex-Tottenham star puts on a finishing masterclass in training, with Everton prepared to give him one last chance to establish himself.

Dele Alli has ramped up his comeback, as he was sighted practicing finishing drills in training, with Everton apparently planning to give him one last chance. What happened? Dele had been limited by a long-term groin ailment, but the former Tottenham star has been making tremendous progress in his quest to complete a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season. He has been sharing regular training updates on his Instagram feed, in which the footballer can be seen putting in hard work on the grass.

In a recent video, Dele was seen doing shooting and finishing drills with top athlete performance specialist Connor Peters. He’d also been training alongside Kyle Walker-Peters, Trevoh Chalobah, and Dominic Solanke to stay ahead of the competition. Did you know? According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton is committed to helping Dele through his rehabilitation. According to reports, Sean Dyche is willing to ‘take another look’ at Dele in pre-season, despite the fact that he has only made 13 appearances for the Merseyside club since joining from Tottenham in 2022.

WHAT IS NEXT? Dele’s current contract with Everton expires at the end of June, and giving him a new one would necessitate renegotiations with Tottenham. The initial transfer agreement called for Everton to pay a hefty price to Spurs in order to secure a new contract.
