Steve Cooper sends a terrible message to Enzo Maresca.

Steve Cooper has praised Leicester City’s resilience in winning an immediate return to the Premier League as he takes over at the King Power Stadium. And he is determined to continue on the momentum established by former manager Enzo Maresca, who led the Foxes to the Championship title and promotion back to the English top flight. “I should say, a real congratulations for last season, for everybody involved – the players and the management staff and the executive team, the ownership, of course, and the supporters for really sticking together and making that important step back up,” he told the club during a press conference. “That is not an easy one; I know that firsthand.

“So, to think that the club has demonstrated that mindset to climb back up as they did, is a really wonderful example of what can be done when people work together. We must continue this, without a doubt. It is extremely normal for a team to go up a level and continue to grow, and I sincerely hope that will be the case next season. “You must understand the context of the challenge that you are taking on. Personally, the most significant step is from the Championship to the Premier League, without a doubt.”
