Despite Leicester City’s return to the Premier League, one of its finest players may be ‘available’ for transfer this summer. Leicester City are in a fragile financial position, with the club’s future unknown due to an ongoing appeal against an alleged infraction of Premier League spending rules. In addition, they are responsible for ensuring their finances are in order prior to the next PSR deadline on June 30th, and may need to make sales in order to prevent a violation of the rules and a possible point deduction.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall may be ‘available’ despite Leicester City’s promoting Youth product. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is perhaps Leicester’s finest player, and the midfielder helped the club win the Championship last season. Dewsbury-Hall, a boyhood Leicester supporter who came through the club’s levels, is the Foxes’ most valued asset because he is a homegrown player and a sale would be recorded as pure profit in accounting.

Give Me Sport has suggested that the 25-year-old might leave this summer, with Manchester United and Brighton both keen. According to writer Ben Jacobs of Give Me Sport, “Manchester United are considering a few names in that area. One is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who is also on Brighton’s radar and could be available for £30–35 million. “Leicester quoted £45 million in January, and the compensation they obtained for Enzo Maresca makes them a little more positive in terms of PSR.

“But they may still need to settle, so we’ll see if they will consider an offer for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. However, it is expected that he will be available on the market at a reasonable price. “So keep an eye on Manchester United and Brighton there.” Dewsbury-Hall is impossible for Leicester to replace. It would be heartbreaking for Leicester fans to watch one of their own depart the club solely to compensate for boardroom mismanagement.

However, it is a very real prospect, and Leicester will be unable to replace the guy who scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists on his path to the Championship victory due to financial constraints. Last season, the aggressive midfielder thrived under Maresca’s direction, and the Argentine manager praised his captain in November, saying: “He was full of responsibility at first [for relegation], but since the first international break he has improved a lot.”He’s cool, great with the ball, and understands when to attack and what to provide the team.He is extremely dangerous near the box and possesses the ability to score or assist from wherever. Could have already had ten or twelve assists.

He is perhaps the most improved for us, and he is in the ideal position.” Leicester fans will be keen for their hero to stay at the King Power and contribute to the club’s survival, but Dewsbury-Hall’s status could be uncertain for the rest of the summer.
