Everton, West Ham United, and Ipswich Town are reportedly interested in signing Hull City defender Jacob Greaves. Everton-linked defender Jacob Greaves has been given permission to quit Hull City by the club’s owner. Greaves is a reported transfer target for the Toffees during the summer window. Sean Dyche’s side’s interest could grow if Jarrad Branthwaite is sold, although Manchester United are a long way from matching Everton’s value.
Greaves has made 177 appearances for Hull and was chosen to the Championship Team of the Season in 2023-24. He helped the Tigers finish eighth in the table, missing the playoffs by three points. The 23-year-old has drawn interest from Premier League clubs like West Ham, recently promoted Ipswich, and Everton. And Hull owner Acun Ilicali has admitted Greaves, who has two years left on his contract, may quit the Yorkshire club if he wants to.
Ilicali told the Hull Daily Mail: “These will come shortly, I believe. There have been some brief discussions about them, and substantial proposals are expected within the next two to three weeks, according to Tan (Kesler – vice-chairman). “He (Tan Kesler) believes there will be some offers, and I will emphasize something again: if you ask me, I will never sell them.” The only reason I’ll sell them is if they approach me and express a desire to go.
“I advised (Keane Lewis) Potter not to leave, and if he had stayed that year, it would have been beneficial to both of us, and he could leave the following year. Again, when it comes to these lads (Greaves and Jacob Philogene), if they believe they will play and be successful for me, their future always comes first.Greaves hopes to play in the Premier League. He’s such a wonderful child; he just told me (about his desire to play in the Premier League). I love him as a character.
He’s an actual captain. I address him from here. Greaves, we need you. You are fantastic, and please join us; nevertheless, if his brain and soul are entirely with another club, we will not stop him.”
